About
What this site is
RakSutka is an independent reference on breast cancer: the biology, the detection, and how the treatment of it changed. It is organised as twenty-eight entries across six sections, and every entry follows the same rule — one thing that was established, and who established it.
That rule is the reason the site reads as a register rather than as an explainer. Where a finding came out of a laboratory, the laboratory is named; where it came out of a trial, the trial, the group and the journal are named. Where the evidence is genuinely contested — population screening is the clearest case — the entry sets out both positions and says which body holds each, rather than choosing between them.
Nothing here is medical advice. This is a record of how a body of knowledge was built, written for readers who want to know where a claim comes from. Anyone facing a decision about their own care needs a clinician who knows their case, and this site is no substitute for one.
Photographs are illustrative unless a credit line says otherwise. Line drawings are our own: the emblem is a duct in cross-section, which is what nearly every entry on the site is ultimately about.
